Make AI negotiate your bills for you

Your bills are not set in stone. One phone call with the right words cuts most monthly bills by a real chunk. ChatGPT writes those words for you in about 30 seconds. Here is the whole process.

What you can negotiate

Gather these five things first

1. Your current bill amount, the exact number
2. How long you have been a customer
3. Your plan name and speed or coverage level
4. Whether your promo rate expired, and when
5. One real competitor offer at your address

A real price beats "they are cheaper." The rep has to answer a number.

The script prompt

I'm a [PROVIDER] customer paying $[AMOUNT] per month for [PLAN]. I've been a customer for [TIME]. My promo rate expired [WHEN]. I want to call retention and get a lower rate. [COMPETITOR] offers [PLAN] at $[PRICE] at my address. Write me a natural, confident phone script to open the call, including what to say on hold and what to say if the first rep says they can't help. Keep it conversational, not aggressive.

When they lowball you

The [PROVIDER] rep just offered me [OFFER]. My goal is to get from $[CURRENT] to around $[TARGET] for at least 12 months. Write a polite but firm reply that declines, explains why it's not enough, and mentions [COMPETITOR]. Keep it to 3 or 4 sentences I can say naturally on the phone.

Ask for retention

The first rep rarely has authority. Use this to get to the person who does.

The first [PROVIDER] rep said they can't offer any discounts. I know the retention department has more authority. Write a polite script asking to be transferred to retention, and what to say when I get there to start fresh.

Lock it in writing

Verbal promises disappear before the next bill. Confirm everything.

I just got off the phone with [PROVIDER]. They agreed to lower my bill from $[OLD] to $[NEW] for [LENGTH]. The rep was [NAME] on [DATE]. Write a short email confirming the new rate, the effective date, and how long it lasts, so I have a written record.
